Teen Therapy

I love working with this age group! Teens are building independence and figuring out who they are, all while juggling school and social dynamics. The combined weight of relationships, school, social stress, and online culture can affect a teen’s health and well-being.
Unexpected obstacles can make this already-difficult phase of life ultra-challenging: sudden loss or death, divorce, trauma, and family conflict.
Through consistent, supportive sessions, teens will have space to explore the nuances of challenging circumstances, gain skills to manage stress, learn to support healthy relationships, and realize self-worth. Therapy at this stage helps to equip teens with the skills and emotional capacity to meet current and future challenges.

“Adolescence is a tough time for parent and child alike. It is a time between: between childhood and maturity, between parental protection and personal responsibility, between life stage-managed by grown-ups and life privately held.” — Anna Quindlen
